I wrote an article titled, We Are The Founding Fathers. It was based on the fact that many of us are descended from those who fought in the Revolutionary War, and others from immigrants who sought the land of the free, as they came with courage and not much else to America. In the Revolutionary War, only about a third of the population supported the war and the founding of a new nation. Another third opposed it, and a third was not involved either way.
Now comes the Refounding of America.
It is possible that the makeup of the struggle to retain our godly heritage and freedoms, and to rebuild a responsible government, is of similar equation. In the origins of this nation, men carried the burden of fighting the war and establishing the government. In this day and age, the burden is shared, as women nation-wide have risen to oppose the subjection of America and our freedoms to the government.
Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann, and Michelle Malkin, are public spokespersons for We The People, followed closely by women all over the country who have committed themselves to protecting their families, their children, their communities, and future generations from the changes being foisted on us by a corrupt and uncaring Congress and ruthless White House.
Many women have donated their time and resources to their local Tea Party. Planning, organizing, calling, urging, inspiring, praying; they have poured out their energy for love of country. Women have taken the lead in the Tea Parties in many towns. Caring for family, working a job, and standing fiercely for America’s freedom has brought many to the point of exhaustion.
I believe that there are two reasons for this exhaustion. One, it is a natural physical outcome of hard work, little sleep, and many duties discharged. As there is a reaction to the outpouring of energy and emotion towards these varied responsibilities, there is also a reaction to the spiritual burden shouldered; one which should be carried by all Americans, but is not. One third make no effort to join the struggle for their own freedoms, and thus the weight is increased on those who have stepped forward so willingly.
And so stood the men with no shoes in the snow, facing the most powerful army in the world. Families left behind, perhaps never to be seen again on this earth. They stood only by their courage, resolution, and faith, while men around them fell or left the battlefield. They trusted that God was with them, for their cause was just.
What was present in the founding is present in the re-founding. Women nation-wide have risen to the challenge. Their courage, commitment, and faith is inspiring, and will bear the fruit they desire. The founding fathers, witness to the actions of this earth, are proud of the efforts of this generation, men and women alike, and they know that though the battle is fierce, the outcome is assured.
Americans cannot be overcome, so help them God. As daunting as the situation may appear, the steely resolution of a free people will not be enslaved forever. Freedom, bestowed on us by our Creator, with life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, will overcome all obstacles, whether government imposed, or outside forces.
So, rest today Mothers, women with children, women without. You lead the nation in resisting the takeover of our liberties, our futures. Our prayers are with you, and we honor the sacrifices you have made. God bless you, God bless America, and above all today, Happy Mother’s Day.
