Proud to be an American!

I am so proud to be an American and I am not ashamed to shout it to the four corners of the earth!  Through tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, floods, and whatever else Mother Nature or man throws at the human race, Americans are the first to respond with open check books, time, manpower, and equipment.  Americans do not ask for anything in return, even when our own shores/ country are devastated by Mother Nature or man.  We take care of our own.

As I watch the devastation in Mississippi in the aftermath of strong tornadoes, which hit over the weekend, I am reminded of the strength, determination, and the way neighbors help each other; it is what helped create and build this great nation.

This is one of many times Americans work together after devastation either from Mother Nature or man.  Even after Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, Americans banded together to help each other the best way they could ( no help from across the pond), even though  the mainstream media did not want to concentrate on anything positive.

Heaven forbid.  Let me remind you how Americans responded as a whole when the devastating earthquake hit Haiti in the early months of 2010-water, blankets, equipment, volunteers, and money.  Even Bush and Clinton worked together to help. Who would have thought that would happen?

Even man caused disasters like war; Americans have arrived trying to save those that want to remain free. After the bombing of Pearl Harbor, America went to war against oppression and communism and help free many countries of Europe that were under the control of Hitler.

Heck, even after bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, America helped rebuild.   During the Civil War, the French wanted us to win against the British, but hardly lifted a finger to help us rebuild.  American ingenuity was able to grow and thrive because of it.  When America has been down and the odds were against them, Americans have dug in and with sweat of brow have won.

Being an American is not all about being greedy and entitled as Obama and his cohorts keep telling the world.  In fact, being an American is about upholding the truth and the U.S. Constitution,  not demanding entitlements, keeping the government out of business and our personal lives, charity, defending those who are oppressed and tortured, and the freedom to become what you want to be.

I am proud to be an American!

“Even after Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, Americans banded together to help each other the best way they could ( no help from across the pond)…”

Here’s a list of countries that provided aide to the US after Hurricane Katrina.

Wikipedia is a joke please find another source to quote and then I will look-colleges do not even except Wikipedia as a source for any papers done by their students.
    Thank you.

So answer me this: If Wikipedia is such a great source, why don’t Colleges allow students to use them???

If you’re so hung up with Wikipedia, go straight to the sources it cites. Not only do I not know if you’re correct in your assertion about colleges, it’s irrelevant to this discussion.
