Every American in the last couple of years has been trying to hold on to what they have worked so hard to earn, but many are not winning the battle.
Even if you are “winning the battle” you have had to “tighten your belt” by not going out to dinner three time a week, becoming a one car family, cutting activities down for your kids and yourself, cutting up all credit cards, renting movies instead of going out, buying second hand clothes, and pay cash for all purchases.
This basically boils down to living within your means…nothing new for many middle class Americans.
But it seems Washington has not figured out how to “tighten their belts.”
Many Congressmen/women are taking Federal Government jets to and from home every weekend or every other weekend (your money), Obama flew to and from Copenhagen TWICE (your money), Obama also flew all over the country to push his health care agenda (like he was still on the campaign trail, but using your money), a $787B bail out (your money by the way of China), more money to bail out Genera l Motors and Chrysler/Dodge, and more money to expand the already bloated Federal Government: all with little regard to your voice.
I am not done yet…Obama is proposing that instead of taking the $30B paid back (January 27, 2010) from the TARP bailout he wants to use this money to help “small banks” make loans to small businesses….WHAT?
Congress is on its way to raising the debt ceiling another $1.9T, while Obama is proposing another $3.8T February budget; that includes tax hikes (jobs killer) and at least $100B for the “creation of jobs”-I thought that was what the $787B was for in the spring of 2009?
This list does not include the continued debate of government run health care that could cost an upwards of $1T just to start or the Clean Energy Act that could cost millions of jobs and a guaranteed hike of utilities for Americans (2009).
The last straw is President Obama “advising” the American people on (February 3, 2010) to “tighten their belts” and that means “not to buy a boat” or “blow a bunch of cash in Vegas, when you can’t pay your mortgage”.
Who is he to tell the American people how to spend their hard earned money, when he and Congress cannot seem to “listen” to the American people to stop spending their money?
