Beautiful isn’t it? Many immigrants, who have arrived in America, were welcomed by this and by Lady Liberty herself-a symbol of FREEDOM! Many waited for hours at Ellis Island to see if they received the approval to stay and become a U.S. citizen and most did. Most immigrants came and made a life for themselves and their families, working on the “American Dream”-never once expecting a hand out from the Federal Government (Really the American Taxpayer).
So what the heck has been going on the last 35 years? Too many people in government and in our schools have preached that all people are entitled to what each hard working American has, no matter what. That includes illegal aliens paying actually no taxes on the money illegal aliens make here in America-they just send it back to Mexico, then receive free healthcare, free education, welfare-if an illegal alien “needs” it the American people have foot the bill. Many politicians even go as far as that every illegal alien has the same rights as American citizens; excuse me-OH IT GETS BETTER.
Many politicians are now packaging illegal aliens as a civil rights issue-did I just hear Martin Luther King Jr. roll over in his grave? The Mexican drug cartels are killing (kidnapping too) thousands of people a year including Americans-heck Phoenix, AZ is rated number TWO for the most kidnappings, right behind Mexico City-yikes! This does not include the many illegal aliens that have died due to human smuggling across the border.
U. S. Border Patrol Officers are being prosecuted and convicted (now released after serving time in prison) of shooting an illegal alien drug dealer in the butt after being caught dealing drugs and breaking American law. On top of all this, Mexico’s President Felipe Calderon thinks it is so horrible that Arizona State decided to pass a state law to help enforce Federal laws on immigration-it is being racist and it will lead to profiling. I have read it and you can find it at http://www.arizonaguide.com/arizona-travel-info/identification-requirements . What do you think? Not so racist is it? Not so bad is it?
Why has Arizona taken this step? Because like many states in America, illegal aliens are sucking their state dry! Look back over the last 35 years and you see the more illegal aliens America has allowed in, the more debt schools, hospitals, states, and the federal government has had to deal with-it is now in the billions of dollars for many states and in the millions of dollars for schools and hospitals.
When you have a population that is numbered in the millions that do not pay taxes, but continually receive “free” healthcare, education, and welfare-you end up with a big debt. This does not include the millions of dollars spent for interpreters at hospitals, clinics, government agencies, and schools. Plus, the millions of dollars spent on the many different language pamphlets distributed by government agencies, hospitals, schools, and the many bilingual (minimum) employees hired to do the 2010 Census.
All these things that are demanded by illegal aliens and politicians are costing America its financial stability, freedom, higher taxes, and so much more. America did not have these kinds of problems before the 1970’s, because the illegal alien problem is nothing like it has been in the last 35 years.
I have watched in my own community, illegal aliens given more help in the public school classroom (more federal government for each hispanic); then American kids whose parents pay taxes-American kids get thrown to the curb. How can American kids compete in a Global Market when public schools ignore them?
You may think I am a racist, but what I really am is an American that has had enough of illegal aliens sucking America dry! I have had it with illegal aliens and politicians 
trying to make out Americans as racist because they have had enough of illegal aliens hiding behind the U.S. Constitution for their “rights”. Americans have had enough of our police and U.S. Border Patrol getting screwed by politicians wanting votes, instead of justice for the victims of kidnapping, killing, and drug sales.
Americans have had enough of hearing the “sob stories” of those illegal aliens that just cannot go back to Mexico, because their own country does not want them either because there are not any jobs-too bad! Americans are sick of seeing so many of our government documents, school information, and hospital information in different languages-excuse me: LEARN ENGLISH!
Many of Americans have ancestors that came to this country that could not speak a lick of English, but they learned or dealt with it the best way they could. But they did not go whining and crying to the politicians of the day-they would have gotten laughed at.
It is time for American citizens to take a stand and not stand for illegal aliens to come to this country to suck it dry! It is time the states and the Federal Government enforce the standing U.S. Immigration laws that are already on the books, that includes supporting our police and the U.S. Border Patrol (that means an illegal runs-shoot them!). It is time to vote out all politicians that support illegal aliens sucking America dry! It is time!

Sheila has a right to be upset about anything she wishes. Violent crime, of any type, upsets me too. But it seems to me that she holds a lot of hostility toward poor people (“SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SICK OF HEARING ABOUT THE IMPOVERISHED…”) and immigrants (“…THESE PEOPLE IN OUR STREETS…”), regardless of criminal behavior. I thinking generalizations in this manner, convenient though they may be in supporting our ideological views, are harmful to society and the public discourse.
I’m frightened for the day when people like Sheila get to decide that we can just “kick em out” (as well as who we kick out), and I’m scared to find out what her concept of “[starting] over the right way” might mean. It’s a sentiment that, in my opinion, would be more at home in 1930s fascist Germany than in the modern U.S.
If Sheila’s “kind of sentiment is very widespread,” as you claim, then I fear for my country and the freedoms upon which it was founded.
Becki you are so right. I know a young man in TX that was an interpreter for their Lone Star card benefits. He finally quit. He became so disgusted watching U.S. citizens asking for temporary help and being refused, yet the illegals came in and got everything available. The citizen had to produce documentation of and all income. HOWEVER, the agency was told to “take the word” of the illegal aliens, without documentation, to receive benefits.
The straw that broke the camels back was when he was at the grocery store. An illegal in front of him at the register offered to pay for all of his groceries using the Lone Star card if he gave her a $1 in cash for every two she put on the card. They are scamming the American taxpayer and sucking us dry. They rally with foreign flags in our streets demanding what they have NO right to. The interpreter walked into work the next day and quit. He was so tired of the injustice he couldn’t take it anymore. This account is straight from his mouth.
YET, our politicians don’t care about the American citizen. They want another voting block of uneducated people. They will feel beholden and bribed to vote for the Democrats because they ALWAYS offer a handout not a hand up.
Becki, I’m convinced our politicians are on the take and receiving laundered money from the drug cartels. I’m sure it’s through La Raza and other groups getting our tax money.

I am glad that young man in Texas had the backbone to walk away from what he was doing and I hope he is making sure everybody that will listen will learn first hand what is going on with American taxpayer money!! The liberals/progressives need to be stopped before they turn this country into another Mexico!!
I would not be surprised if our politicians in this country are being bought by the drug cartel-many of them are already being bought by George Soros, so why not the drug cartels!

I believe you are the one who needs to get his facts straight before you criticize someone
who obviously knows what she is talking about . Illegal aliens – pay NO State or
Federal Income tax unless they happen to be using a stolen S.S. number ( which happens a lot )
in which case , they have F.I.C.A. deducted each month ( Notice how so many of them take lie, cheat
and steal for their own advantage ) Well , the vast numbers of American immigrants never thought of
doing such a thing . They didn’t ‘game’ the system. They spoke English, worked hard
and obeyed the law . They loved this Country And most of them would never think of
taking a dime in welfare money from someone else .
When illegals do not pay State or Federal Income taxes ( or property taxes in most incidences ) they are
exempt from having to pay $ 20,000 and up , each and every year. Meanwhile they receive FROM tax- payers , as much as $ 1600 a MONTH
in (free to them ) hospital and medical care , Medical , a free education and books , lunches , etc. etc.
And please get this straight , will you ? Their children are eligible for food stamps ,
welfare , Aid to Dependent Children ( at a much as $ 600 a month per child ) and so on
all at tax- payer expense . They aren’t even required to pay a co- pay at an emergency room or
clinic like the rest of us are . I would call that quite racist wouldn’t you ? One race pays
while they other one gets it free ? Many illegals go to an emergency room for non
emergencies , rather than
a doctors office because they know they are not required to pay for any of it – even when they
more can afford a doctors visit . This means thousands of dollars of emergency room service
is sucked up by the hospitals or once again, paid for by tax- payers . In CA alone , 80 emergency
rooms have gone bankrupt .
Hugh numbers of illegal and legal residents work under the table and or send money back to
their home country and do NOT report that income to tax agencies . In other words, they CHEAT .
Legal residents, meanwhile , pay State , Federal , Property , and Sale taxes , pay for healthcare
insurance , pay through the nose for hospital and medical care , and generally do not
receive welfare because they know SOMEONE else pays for it !
The bottom line is that illegal aliens have broken the law by coming here and are stealing money
from legal residents who desperately need it in these difficult financial times . There isn’t
ONE COUNTRY in the WORLD ( including Mexico and Latin America ) that would give free benefits
to illegal aliens or put their interests ahead of that of their OWN CITIZENS . In fact, most of them give the illegals the boot out of there – or even put them in jail ! So , does that mean Mexico and Latin America are
‘racists ‘ to use your term?
We’re in a recession’ depression. People are barely making it . CA is bankrupt .
Quebrada – get it ? Start paying your fair share , and stop taking out more than you take out , or go home .
Blake – Where do you live , Alaska ? In college, or living at home ? Or do you work
for the government ? You certainly can’t live in
the real world , nor in an area where they are bars on the windows, drug needles in
the streets, ugly grafitti everywhere and gangs and drug dealers like whole parts of
Central Valley , CA, Los Angeles , and San Diego . Whole areas of formally
clean and nicely kept up CA have turned into third world slums.
I have a suggestion . Why don’t you give some of YOUR
money to help pay for benefits for illegal immigrants since you care about them so much ?
The State of CA is BANKRUPT . Hello ? Ditto for Arizona . What is it about these truths that
you do not understand ? Businesses are leaving the State at a rate of 4- 5 per DAY . We do not have money to give
away to persons here illegally . Legal residents are suffering and living on the edge .
My son cannot make a living here and may have to leave the State . My husband is trying to get by on
1/3 of what he was earning even three years ago. And we both pay taxes – State taxes ,
Property taxes , Federal taxes , health insurance , medical care costs , etc. etc. This is
not an uncommon scenario . Neither one of us takes welfare – nor would we . Neither
one of us ‘games the system ‘ seeing how much we can cheat tax- payers in this State .
We don’t send money back to another country in Europe instead of spending or investing it here .
Of course there are many good illegals who are appreciative , work hard and are more or less honest
( other than being here illegally ) and don’t do any of the above. We need some kind of
reform to help some of them, if the economy recovers . They are , however, many times ,
overshadowed by the hundreds of thousands who do cheat, lie and steal . My husband had his
truck stolen off our driveway by Mexican gang members . My neighbor’s son was killed by an illegal
drunk driver . Sixteen and an honor student with a scholarship to a prestigious university .
And we live in a nice area .
I’ve personally seen Mexicans who
pay for their groceries with food stamps money while talking on their cell phones , wearing
fancy jeans and having manicured nails . This is not uncommon. Or mothers with four kids
who sit and watch Spanish TV all day while collecting their welfare checks and food stamps .
Houses – uncleaned and going to pot . Cars up on blocks in front yards .
So, like we said , if YOU want to pay for all their expenses – YOU and all there other
liberals in your world , go right ahead .
Just don’t shame us for playing by the rules and not being able to afford it .

What goes on with the thinking processes of people like you ?
We have , at present an unemployment rate of over 8% in this Country
and much economic instability . Many people are suffering , struggling to make it , and tax- payers are stressed to the
max. In parts of CA the unemployment rate is as high as 30% !
Why on earth should we allow more immigrants to come here who have no skills and
no ability to pay into the system? Almost HALF of the American public is now living at
the poverty line . Is that not a scary enough figure for you? What about them ? Are YOU
going to provide for their needs ?
And please remember , when you playing the tired old ‘ Let’s bash the Anglo – Saxon line
So so tired of that .
My Anglo -Saxon immigrant ancestors didn’t take ONE dime in welfare money – nor would they
if they could . And they paid taxes – just like everyone else . And you know what ? They didn’t
complain . They didn’t point fingers at the Americans already here and cry and whine . They
didn’t march in the streets like spoiled – ungrateful children , burning the American flag when
they couldn’t get their own way .
They learned English, worked hard , lived honest lives and were grateful and
and loyal to the wonderful Country that gave them the opportunity .
P>S. And as far as your usual over the top , ‘fascist ‘ comment goes . If you are an illegal immigrant
in Mexico or most parts of Latin America , consider that you not only receive not ONE dime of
welfare, you are either kicked out of the Country or put in jail .
