Day after day Americans wake up to an ongoing rape of their culture, financial institutions, free market and ,as a whole, their way of life. Our elected leaders seem to have lost the Passion to fight in the face of this great beast: many now called RINO’s apparently have already given in with short term gains in tow. Are there any good men or women left in this nation? Where is the rage? Where is the legitimate anger?
As I watch the White House and Congress play Russian roulette with my health care, I started researching how it actually is working in countries like the United Kingdom, France, and Canada-I have realized that there could be lots of problems ahead for the sick children and adults of this country, not including higher payroll taxes, property taxes, sales tax, and higher city taxes for all Americans.
On July 4, 1776, the thirteen American colonies declared their Independence from the tyrannical clutches of the mighty, powerful Great Britain. This was the result of years of extreme taxation, forcing colonists to house and feed British troops, not allowing westward expansion of the colonists, no representation of colonists in the British Parliament, closing of [...]
This morning I looked up my local board of education members on the Internet, found a picture of their smiling faces, and e-mailed them all. I stated that I would like to read a copy of the book currently being used in my city high school’s history class. Out of nine members I e-mailed, two of the e-mail links were broken, two were not typed correctly and one was referenced to another school board member. Somehow I don’t think my local school board is receiving many comments from the public!
Yesterday, I started a conversation with a liberal, or rather he with me on Twitter. His tone is civil and he seems to genuinely want to try to understand my point of view as a conservative. He believes that socialism is the way to help the weak and poor better their lot in our society. Did I mention that he is black and I am white? As I said, the conversation has just started and the short bursts of Twitter make it difficult to explain a position in any detail. In fact, if you’ve spent any time on Twitter, it makes you wonder why you spent so much time learning how to spell.
Every American in the last couple of years has been trying to hold on to what they have worked so hard to earn, but many are not winning the battle.
Even if you are “winning the battle” you have had to “tighten your belt” by not going out to dinner three time a week, becoming a one car family, cutting activities down for your kids and yourself, cutting up all credit cards, renting movies instead of going out, buying second hand clothes, and pay cash for all purchases.
The Waffle House in Columbia, South Carolina gives one an interesting panoramic view of the American electorate–a microcosm of the U.S. population. Here there are white-collar government types, blue collar whites, African-Americans, Hispanics, the works.
The fallout from Scott Brown’s stunning upset victory in the Massachusetts Senate race has already begun in the Congress.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi stated today that she now doesn’t have the votes to pass the Senate healthcare bill.
The campaign mantra of “Change You Can Believe In” of Barack Hussein Obama hit a positive note with many Americans. As the campaign evolved into transition and transition into real policy making exercises (jumping the gun at times), the realization of what course this “Change” was to take became crystal clear. The wholesale attack on American ideals, traditions, values, and institutions has sent much of the American citizenry into what can only be described as a state of shock. Every day we are inundated with more and more centrally controlled directives and policies that freedom loving Americans find either alien and/or shocking.
