The US and Europe are either just jealous of China’s new found title of world’s biggest exporter or really getting upset that China keeps undervaluing their currency in order to remain economically competitive. All arguments we have heard before, no doubt we will hear them again.
It seems China does as it pleases and Europe as expected doesn’t have the nerve to act with any resolve, but for the United States to continually show a weakened posture is a sad picture. Will anyone every muster the nerve to be the first too imposed tariffs on China’s misuse of their currency during this global recession? What is wrong with a bit of protectionism in the United States any way, shutting off the import spicket from China wouldn’t be all that bad besides we need some job growth.
The truth of the matter is that the world is seeking a leader to handle the Chinese issue. This usually means the President of the United States, but our current Administration as well as his predecessor have had nothing but concessions to offer the Chinese. So, where does this leave the U.S. and Europe regarding their concerns about China: right back where they started. Neither nation has the will to confront China and China knows this and will with a smugness continue their daily business of making money.
I would love to see our current administration put a hefty tariff on Chinese goods. Who would this really hurt? Wal-mart and their investors… but we might finally bring back the “Made in USA” labels and be proud to pull ourselves out of this recession….

If he did that I would write a nice article for him, but he like Bush are to beholden to the Chinese..we’re in a bit of a mess.
