The Obama administration is finally here. His followers wept and named their newborns after him; his party held him up as the savior of the American people: hope had finally come. His Administration had been carefully designed for some time and was anticipated by an egger world leadership and herald as a new begging in world relationship. Obama was the solution and it was a great comfort to see him finally take control upon his inauguration. Unfortunately, not everything always goes as planned. As it seems, the role of President is much more complex than the Democratic Party had contemplated.
8 years of the Bush administration seems to have developed within the Democratic collective a sense that anyone can do the job. Their disdain for our former president had clouded their perspective of what he actually accomplished. It wasn’t about how well he did his job but how well he held our nation together in such terrible conditions in the face of world leaders: evidenced by how they loathed a man who would not bend to the beat of the EU. This uncommon attribute came from life’s experiences both executive and military of which our new president has none. The Democratic Party rolled the dice and as it seems we may now be left with a paper savior.
An American President is a terrible and purposeful figure unwavering and like a great sea captain of old his judgments unquestioned. A bit of a romantic concept I know, but necessary both in perception and action. Nations around the world have feared the United States because of our greatness and history as the leader in world affairs. This well established position of esteem has all but been lost. We as a people have first failed to support our former president in times of trouble and then elected a man who does not have the ability nor fortitude to fill the shoes necessary.
The Obama Administration has floundered time after time when dealing with foreign powers only to make it look like a weak and frightened coward. This seems harsh yes, but true just the same. Obama’s recent support for a “Buy American” policy was as quickly abandoned as it was introduced because of pressure from the EU. Again India rebuked Obama for trying to stick his nose into the Kashmir issue: Obama not a word. Again Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad recently declared that Obama’s “unclench fist” offer to talk to Iran showed America’s policy weakness. Ahmadinejad played Obama like a cheap fiddle. Time after time our newly elected president has failed where former President Bush had held the ground. Our terrible sea captain is turning out to be living a fairy land mentality.
Sadly the Obama administration is just as much a failure at domestic policy as it is with foreign policy. As unimaginable as it seems, and with a promise of seating the most ethical cabinet ever the Obama administration and a well greased Senate Finance Committee approved Tim Geithner as the new Treasury Secretary. This doesn’t seem too unusual except for the fact the Mr. Geighner failed to pay over $30,000 in taxes: excusable only if you supported the Obama ticket. The idea that our President in learning of this compromising character flaw continued to support Mr. Geighner only supports the notion that President Obama’s own character may not be as it should. To make matters worse within day’s two additional nominees tried to slither into position, but were also caught and quickly retreated as to not harm their existing positions. These appointments are not the only mistakes being made but tremendous economic blunders like limiting the salary caps of any company taking stimulus funding to $500,000. The effect of this proposal will only keep away the better minds needed to solve our mess, of course, if he is expecting the decision making to come out of the white house I could understand. This should make many question how many more democrats are functioning within the honorable halls of Washington with questionable pasts.
The inevitable result of such inexperience and naivety towards ones duty can only hasten to further the disembowelment of America’s prestige and reputation world wide. Good Americans Democrat and Republican alike can only now watch and see our heritage disintegrate and our children’s future slip foolishly out of our control. It is likely that the further we find ourselves down this path that the Democratic majority may recognize the dilemma and begin to demand more power from the Presidency: we can only hope for this outcome. However, until then we can expect the honorable position of United States President to undergo additional mockery and ridicule from the worlds leaders. Inexperience is no excuse for a President. What does a prideful man do when he is found out to be a charlatan he baits and switches the blame: America keep your eyes on the truth, as it is simple.
